Shoe adhesives

Aqueous heat-activated adhesives for footwear can be made with VESTANAT^® IPDI and VESTANAT^® H12MDI. Dispersions based on these raw materials exhibit outstanding light stability and can be formulated without any VOC.

The hydrophilic fumed silica grade AEROSIL^® 200 have been used successfully for many years as thickening and thixotropic agent in shoe adhesives. For water based shoe adhesives, AEROSIL^® COK 84 is a very efficient thixotrope. Additionally, the nano-structured zinc oxide VP ZnO 20 DW is used in polychloroprene contact adhesives and shows no sedimentation compared to standard zinc oxide.

Additionally, Dynasylan^® 1146 can improve the dry and wet adhesion on the different substrates of shoe adhesives.
