Consumer adhesives

Consumer adhesives are, for example all purpose adhesives, glass adhesives and plastic adhesives. They are based for example on polyvinyl acetate, hybrid polymers, cyanoacrylates and epoxy resins.

The hydrophilic fumed silica grade AEROSIL^® 200 is a very efficient thickening agent and thixotrope for polyvinyl acetate adhesives. For cyanoacrylates, the hydrophobic fumed silica grades AEROSIL^® R 812 S and AEROSIL^® R 711 are suitable thickening agents and thixotropes. The hydrophobic fumed silica grades AEROSIL^® R 202 and AEROSIL^® R 805 are very effective thixotropes for epoxy and hybrid adhesives. Finally, Dynasylan^® 1146, which is a secondary aminosilane, is an ideal adhesion promoter for hybrid adhesives.

TEGO^® VariPlus SK or 1201 act as adhesion improver in solvent-borne adhesives for hard plastics like ABS, PVC or PC.
